AERCON AAC to Revolutionize Residential Construction in Naples
Building System Delivers Top-Quality, Durable Construction & Lower Labor Costs Over Conventional Building Materials
Naples, Florida—May 19, 2016— AERCON AAC is not only the name of a building product, but the name of a central Florida-based company that intends to revolutionize the future of residential development in Naples. As the leading manufacturer of AAC (autoclaved aerated concrete), Aercon will showcase the value of its fully integrated building system to the Naples market by using AAC to build a showcase home on 14th Avenue North in the up and coming Lake Park area of downtown Naples.
“AERCON AAC is similar to standard concrete masonry (CMU) blocks or slabs, but is 50 percent lighter, environmentally friendly, and does not require wallboard, insulation or wood framing, which saves time and labor costs,” said Mike McCormick, sales manager at Aercon. “We see a great value in our building system with regard to residential construction, and we are excited to bring it to the Naples market.”

AERCON AAC has been manufactured in Haines City, Florida since 1996, and this type of product has been used with much success worldwide for over 70 years. Up until now, AERCON AAC has been used primarily for commercial and industrial projects, but residential construction is poised to benefit from the product’s many features, which include:

Superior Thermal Insulation
Excellent Acoustic Performance
Hurricane Tested for Durability
Reduced Time & Labor Costs for Builders
Design Versatility & Flexibility
Non-Combustible, Fire-Resistant Performance
Termite & Pest Resistant Quality
Non-Toxic & Environmentally Friendly Construction
Lower Heating & Cooling Costs for Residents

Recently, Aercon representatives Susan Payne and Jim Berk took a team of Naples-based architects, builders, engineers and contractors to the Aercon plant in Haines City to observe the manufacturing process and to learn how best to use the product when constructing the Naples showcase home. Those in attendance were: Michael Stewart of Atlas Design & Engineering; Marvin Degon of High Velocity Hurricane Protection; Matt Kragh and Ken Aliff of MHK Architecture & Planning; CMU contractors Steve Sikora and Lewis Crawford of Premier Home Builders; and Arthur Scheinholz, Curtis Gunther, Wes Cypher and Nick DeScetto of Sunwest Custom Homes.
The AERCON AAC showcase home at 1111 14th Avenue North in Naples will be designed by MHK Architecture & Planning. “I am on a mission to create the quietest, most energy efficient house we have ever completed”, said Matt Kragh, principal of MHK.
Curtis Gunther, representing Sunwest Custom Homes said “The value to the construction industry is apparent in the time and costs savings as well as the quality and superior construction AERCON AAC lets you deliver to home buyers. We are honored to work with Aercon on the Naples showcase home and look forward to many other AERCON AAC projects.” Groundbreaking will be in June with expected completion by early 2017.
